naturally, they assumed it was a non-native trying cartoon and david wright and an obvious awful letters come in here but i would answer each one and explained that i needed me so and so basically they would say i'm sorry. i guess it's okay then. for some reason it's okay if i needed to say it, which i thought was always odd, but since then, there's been very few letters like that coming in. it's been very widely accepted. there's another paper may cartoon appears in, the osage news in oklahoma. other than that, my cartoons only appears in the santa fe new mexican. i had tried to go through united syndicate. i sent them a letter along with some of my cartoons and i got a pretty cordial letter back about a week later and it basically said -- they turned me down and said we're sorry, but we cannot accept these cartoons. i don't think the country is ready for this. i sent an e-mail back and said i think the country spent waiting 585 years for this cartoon. the response from my tribe is very surprising. at first i thought the worse, that it would be accepted, that it would be laughed at. i k
